I have stayed in Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios. I found the beaches a little less breathtaking in Montego Bay however being so close to the airport it does have its advantages. Really depends on how long you are going for and the resort you choose.

Barbados, I believe, is my favorite destination. I have been many times. It is safe to walk around and explore. The people are lovely, helpful and welcoming.

Cuba is another safe place with warm people and beauty everywhere you look.

The only downfall is they don't always have the warmth that we northerners are looking for. The weather can be a little chilly in a bad year. If Florida gets a cold patch so does Cuba.

This is another destination that I recommend you stay in an all inclusive. The locals can be very aggressive with their sales.

Our favourite vacation south

Jo-Ann has been booking our annual 2-week vacations to the Caribbean for the past 10 years or so, at times joining us on our trip. Her destination suggestions are always welcome.
